I have a pan that seems to have a sticky residue on it and I’m afraid if I scrub it too hard it will get all scratched up. Its been through the dishwasher a few times but I don’t want to keep doing that. Any tips?

Try this cleaning cloth. You have to buy in packages of 5 but they are only like $3 bucks a piece. I have ordered them and use them on everything, especially cleaning windows and clean mirrors. They are made out of tiny fibers. They are guaranteed not to scratch and all you do is rinse the cloth under water, wring it out and wipe ANY surface with no streaks or scratch. Use em over and over. I have not thrown one away yet!
I even waxed my car with it! I am sold on this …I encourage you to try it out.
Try boiling some cola in it to loosen that residue, before giving it another go with a sponge and detergent.
My first recommendation would be to hand wash. The dishwasher detergent is extemely hard on anything it comes in contact with.
Try using powdered stainless steel cleaner. It comes in a container much like traditional kitchen cleansers but is made to shine stainless steel without scratching. There are several brands available and it should be easy to find at your local grocery store.
